As we enter the fourth year of the war on Islamo-facism, Arthur Chrenkoff‘s Good News from Iraq and Afghanistan series of news compilations is an ongoing reminder that out of evil can spring good. Not that the Middle East has been instantly transformed into the fabled Garden of Eden, but let us not make the perfect the enemy of the good. Among the remaining evils, there are plenty good things:
- Afghanis live in freedom from religious tyranny, and are gearing up for provincial elections.
- Two-thirds of Iraq is secure and free, and all Iraqis are free of dictatorial whim and secret police.
- Libya has publicly given up its nuclear ambitions.
- Syria has pulled out of Lebanon.
- Israel has pulled out of Gaza.
Arthur Chrenkoff has collected links to all his Good News posts in one place. Go read them all.
It is so refreshing to hear all the good that is happening in such tough nations. It is so nice as all we hear is how bad things are.
