Oil for Kojo

The indefatigable Claudia Rosett’s latest article about Oil-for-Fraud is up. Bill Safire in the New York Times covers it.

Just in case you’ve missed it, and/or you think that the United Nations should have the last word in international affairs, a brief summary: during the 90’s the UN allowed Saddam Hussein to sell oil in exchange for food. However, it seems that some money was skimmed off, and ended up in the pockets of Saddam, various UN bureaucrats, and corporate participants, most notably including Kojo Annan, the son of the present Secretary-General (who himself counts among his notable achievements for world peace ordering Romeo Dallaire to stand down in Rawanda). Annan the elder is now doing his best to obstruct any external investigation into the biggest humanitarian fraud in history: $12 $20 billion and counting.

Havel for Secretary-General!
