The book also revealed that Ansar al-Islam, the group running the camp, had given Aref a title: &#8220;the commander.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Aref, 34, is the Imam of the Masjid As-Salam mosque in Albany, N.Y.
